More Than Boarding.

A different standard of care.

Routine • Rest • Intentional Play

At El Ranchito Wanderlust, every decision begins with one simple question:

What's best for the dog?

We believe dogs deserve more than a place to stay—they deserve a place where they feel safe, understood, and at home.

Through thoughtfully matched social groups, structured routines, balanced play, quiet rest, and individualized care, we've created an environment where dogs can settle in, build confidence, and simply be dogs.

Because exceptional care isn't about caring for more dogs—it's about truly knowing each one.

A Little Piece of Home for Dogs.

El Ranchito Wanderlust dog daycare and boarding property surrounded by palm trees and desert landscape in Todos Santos, Baja California Sur

El Ranchito Wanderlust was born from a simple idea: dogs deserve more than a place to stay. They deserve a place where they feel safe, understood, and at home.

What began as the search for a property with enough space to continue fostering dogs gradually evolved into something much bigger. It became an opportunity to create a different kind of dog hospitality—one built around thoughtful routines, meaningful socialization, individualized care, and the belief that every dog deserves to be known as an individual.

Today, El Ranchito Wanderlust is a home-inspired dog lodge offering boarding, daycare, and a Members Club in Todos Santos, Baja California Sur.

Our property has been intentionally designed around the natural rhythm of a dog's day, with dedicated spaces for play, rest, exploration, and connection. Rather than simply supervising groups of dogs, we focus on creating an environment where they can build confidence, feel secure, and genuinely enjoy their time away from home.

At El Ranchito Wanderlust, hospitality isn't just about where dogs stay.

It's about how they're cared for.

And while El Ranchito Wanderlust is not a rescue, giving back will always be part of who we are.

Through The Collective, we celebrate our community, support local collaborations, and continue contributing to initiatives that improve the lives of animals across Baja.

Because we believe exceptional care extends beyond our gates.

Meet the Founder

Woman with a dog at El Ranchito Wanderlust, a private dog daycare and boarding club in Todos Santos, Baja California Sur

Hi, I'm Dani.

I’m a Mexican entrepreneur who has called Baja home for nearly two decades and the founder of El Ranchito Wanderlust.

I’ve built a beautiful, intentional life here with my pack of six tiny dogs, beginning with my very first rescue, Sayulita—the Queen. A little Chihuahua with a huge heart and an even bigger personality, she came into my life 11 years ago and completely changed it.

Slowly, the pack grew.

There’s Pupo, another Chihuahua with his own very particular personality and a car accident survivor; Isla, my sweet and stubborn albino Chiweenie, with the loud dachshund that lives inside her; Kimi, my gorgeous wire-haired tripod dog, who has no idea she’s missing one leg and lives life fully and happily—a resilient girl; Cardon, my happy watchdog and guardian, a 22-pound bundle of cuteness who takes his job very seriously and chooses to sleep outside rather than come into the bedroom; and Valentina, the youngest of the pack—a strong, energetic, and incredibly smart cattle dog who stole my heart after coming to me at just four weeks old, full of worms.

Long before El Ranchito became a business, dogs had already become a way of life.

Over the years, I fostered, rescued, and helped dogs find their way home. At one point, I was caring not only for my own dogs, but also for a litter of eight puppies I had rescued. I needed to get creative—to build a life that would allow me to stay home, care for them, continue rescuing, and create a sustainable income.

That was when the idea of finding the right property started to take shape.

I wanted a place where my own dogs could have the space and freedom they deserved, where I could continue fostering, and where I could build something around the life I was already living rather than away from it.

That search unexpectedly became the beginning of El Ranchito Wanderlust.

My career has always been rooted in hospitality. Later, I transitioned into property management and real estate, helping people discover homes and build lives in Baja. Looking back, I realize each chapter prepared me for this one.

El Ranchito Wanderlust brings together everything I love: hospitality, thoughtful design, entrepreneurship, slow living, and, of course, dogs.

Today, my focus is on creating a business that is both sustainable and deeply intentional—one where every dog is cared for as an individual and every family feels confident leaving their best friend in our hands.

Outside of El Ranchito, you’ll usually find me with my pack, at the beach, dreaming up new ideas for The Collective, or simply enjoying the slower rhythm of life that first brought me to Baja almost twenty years ago.

If you’d like to know more about each of my dogs and the stories behind them, visit our Journal, where you can meet the pack one story at a time.

Thank you for trusting us with your dogs.

I truly believe they deserve a little piece of home—even when they’re away from yours.
