where love meets rescue

ABOUT EL RANCHITO WANDERLUST

From survivors to snugglers — get to know Los Wanderlust, the six dogs who built the heart of El Ranchito.
Our reason

Why We Started El Ranchito Wanderlust

El Ranchito started as a dream to give my own rescue dogs the home they deserve. What began with one sassy little pup in Sayulita has grown into a pack filled with love, resilience, and big personalities. My  dogs aren’t just pets — they’re family.

They live in comfort with air-conditioning, soft beds, and lots of cuddles. Each one has a story of survival and hope, and together they’ve built the heart of El Ranchito Wanderlust.

The Location

Check Out Our Dog Park

At El Ranchito, dogs don’t just stay—they play. Our 500 m² fully fenced dog park gives pups the freedom to run, explore, and socialize in a safe, supervised environment. Shaded areas and fresh water keep them comfortable, while agility toys and open space encourage healthy exercise and fun.

Whether it’s a quick game of fetch or an afternoon of group play, our on-location park is designed to make every stay feel like an adventure.

Meet The Pack

From survivors to snugglers — get to know Los Wanderlust, the dogs who built the heart of El Ranchito Wanderlust.

Sayulita

The very first rescue — a super-friendly Chihuahua adopted 10 years ago in Sayulita. She’s the queen of the pack and Dani’s heart: confident, social, and always leading the way.

Pupo

A tiny Chihuahua with a huge heart. He was found after being hit by a car, battling fleas and ticks, and spent two months healing from a fractured hip. Sayulita instantly loved him.

Isla

A Chiweenie (Chihuahua + Dachshund) with an albino coat. She’s stubborn, vocal, and endlessly affectionate — like melted butter in your arms.

Kimi

Our brave tripod. Dani rescued her in Cabo after a hurricane and a car accident. Her leg was amputated, but that never slowed her down. She has wiry hair, a sweet face, and a motherly heart, especially with puppies.

Cardón

The first rescue in Todos Santos. Abandoned in a house in Cerritos, he became a “foster fail.” Loyal to his core, Cardón chooses to sleep outside to guard the house, even though he could be inside.

Valentina

Rescued just weeks before El Ranchito was born. At only 8 weeks old, she already had the spirit of a leader. She’s a herding dog with boundless energy and needed training and purpose. Dani couldn’t let her go.

About Dani

Daniela is a local real estate agent covering the Todos Santos, Pescadero, and Cerritos area, and the founder of El Ranchito Wanderlust, where her two great passions meet: helping dogs and helping people build beautiful lives in Baja.

For over a decade, she has cared for countless pups, including four full litters, and found them all loving homes, even sending two of her rescues to wonderful new lives in Europe.

Dani has a natural gift for understanding dogs, their personalities, behaviors, and needs. To her, they’re not just animals; they’re best friends, family, and a source of joy. From spa days to cozy beds, Dani makes sure every dog is deeply loved and cared for.

She also volunteers with Perros Santos, a local community group of passionate expats and locals who organize free monthly sterilization clinics to help reduce the number of stray dogs in the area.

What began as a personal mission has grown into El Ranchito — a space created from love, where dogs can thrive and people can discover the magic of Baja living.Through her real estate work, Dani hopes to inspire more people to create purposeful, fulfilling lives in Baja — while keeping the local lifestyle raw, authentic, and respectful of the community and nature.

Her goal is to help others build their dreams here with heart, sustainability, and shared values — always rooted in love for this land, its people, and their dogs.
